Lamar School District Board of Education

Today the Lamar school district will meet this evening in an online video conference call. The board will be meeting at 6:30pm in order to discuss several magenta items including: reports from Prowers County Public Health, the school district food service, and a budget approval for the 2020-2021 school year. To join the school district conference, residents and parents may access and enter the number 253-215-8782.

Lamar City Council

The Lamar City Council has decided to cancel a work session for today and instead resume with a regular meeting for council members. City business license renewals, and audience participation will be segments of the meeting as residents are invited to participate via city of Lamar Facebook page. Questions and comments from residents and individuals may be sent towards the end of the meeting as council members read comments from online. Individuals needing disability services for the meeting are encouraged to call 719-336-4376.

Primary Election Ballots

Primary election ballots will be mailed to active registered voters starting today. Voters can double check voting statuses or affiliation by going to Mail-in ballots may be dropped off on the east side of the Lamar courthouse building or mailed to the city. Residents who do not receive a ballot by June 22nd may call 719-336-8011 for more information. Voters that are registered unaffiliated will be receiving a ballot packet in their mail for this Primary Election.


Colorado Clean-up

A community group is looking to make the Pikes Peak Region a tidier place to live. Gabrielle Simmons with Clean Up Colorado Springs says they spent the weekend picking things up around Fountain Creek. The group has also picked up after some of the George Floyd protests in downtown Colorado Springs.
